The Full Moon in Aquarius

Updated: Aug 11

Vision, community and creative interdependence

A hand covered in vibrant, swirling multicolored paint against a blurred blue background, creating an artistic and expressive mood.

Aquarius rules groups, organisations, friendships, and our larger hopes and dreams. It has one eye on what’s best for the collective, for the future. While its opposite sign, Leo, teaches us to shine as individuals, Aquarius teaches us how to be part of something greater. It asks us to contribute, to collaborate, to innovate. To hold a vision beyond ourselves.

Leo season reminds us to shine. To claim our gifts, our voice, our creative power. To stand in the centre of our own life and say, ‘This is who I am.’ Leo wants you to be seen: not from ego, but from authenticity. You are the only one who can bring your unique spark into the world.

But Aquarius gently (or forcefully) reminds us:

You’re not the whole sky, you’re a star in the constellation.

Your light matters and it’s part of something much larger.

Aquarius is represented by the Water Bearer, the one who carries knowledge and wisdom, pouring it out to nourish the collective mind.

It asks us to share what we know. To weave what’s possible. To co-create something new.

Reflective questions to sit with

As this Full Moon illuminates the Leo–Aquarius axis consider:

  • How does my creative expression serve not just me, but the collective?

  • How can I show up fully, without dominating the space?

  • Can I be a leader who lifts others, rather than needing the spotlight?

  • What does it look like to bring my whole self into community—and allow others to do the same?

This is the art of creative interdependence: not shrinking, not shouting, but learning how your unique light fits within the greater pattern. It’s about moving from ‘Look at me!’ to ‘Let’s build something meaningful together.’

Friction, pressure, and a push toward change

Woven into this Full Moon are planetary aspects that feel both soft and inspiring and hard and heavy. You might feel like you’re stuck in the mud, wanting to move forward (you can see the path!) but not quite able to take the next step. You’re not alone in that.

  • Mars in Libra is opposite Saturn and Neptune in Aries, a mix of stalled momentum and dream-fogged vision. You may feel tired, uncertain or frustrated with the pace of change.

  • There’s also a Mystic Rectangle involving Mars, Pluto, Saturn/Neptune and Mercury retrograde in Leo bringing ideas, creative energy, inspiration and communication—it’s a push-pull of action and reflection, evolution and resistance.

  • Supporting this is a Grand Trine in air signs (Mars, Pluto, Uranus). Change is happening in our thoughts and our conversations, getting ready to take action.

And this Full Moon sits at the midpoint of Aquarius, a fixed sign. It suggests we’re in transition—one foot in the old, one inching toward the new. Fixed signs don’t let go easily, but Aquarius asks us to.

This moment demands a shedding of the known, a willingness to reimagine the future, and the patience to allow it to unfold on soul time, not ego time.

Evolution is always happening

Sometimes an external shift forces us to change internally. And sometimes, when something changes inside us, we’re called to reshape our outer lives.

It’s ever-evolving. The world is always changing because we are always changing. You are not simply living life—you are life.

We are life.

And we are creating this life together.

So, under this Full Moon, I leave you with one final question:

What are you creating—and who are you creating it with?
