New Moon in Taurus

I’m writing this to you from the comfort of my egg chair. I love curling up in it and letting myself gently sway while I read or sip a cup of tea (or sometimes a glass of wine). It’s my comfort spot—my nest. Something about the slow rocking settles me.
And with the sun shining again (hello T-shirt weather), I’m taking every opportunity to sit outside and soak it in. Diesel the dog is joining me—or more accurately, I might be joining him. He’s fully committed to the art of being a dog with no responsibilities, and spends as much time as he can stretched out in the sun like it’s his full-time job.
And that’s Taurus.
Slow. Steady. Grounded. Pleasure through the senses. Coming back to what we value and actually letting ourselves live it.
I always love a lunation in Taurus. It’s a chance to exhale after the fire of Aries and slow back down to earth. A reminder to enjoy life.
This New Moon in Taurus is inviting us to recommit to our values. To check in with what we’re building, what we’re saying yes to and whether it truly fits who we are becoming.
Mars and Chiron are conjunct in Aries and sextile Venus in Gemini. At a simple level: Chiron speaks to our wounds, Mars to our actions, Venus to our values.
Adding onto this, Mercury is conjunct the New Moon in Taurus and Venus—ruler of this lunation—is in Gemini.
Taurus rules the throat. Mercury and Gemini bring the words.
Mix all that together and what we have is speaking up, healing through action, aligning what we say and do with what matters to us. Soothing the places where we’ve been out of alignment. Getting honest. Getting focused.
Personally, I’ve found myself pulling back from talking about astrology lately. It felt like too much at a time when the world feels like it’s constantly shifting, breaking down.
But then I reminded myself that the events of this time we are in are reflected in astrology (Saturn + Jupiter conjunction in 2020, Pluto transiting through Aquarius). And that knowing our own birth charts, the way we are wired, along with how the transits are affecting us personally, is the map that many are seeking at this time.
When we’re more resourced, more grounded, more self-aware, that’s when we’re actually able to contribute to the kind of change we want to see.
I found myself drawn to write this because I wanted to, not because I felt I had to. I took pleasure in sitting with the chart and letting it speak to me and then forming the words to pass the message onto you.
So take this New Moon as a moment to slow down enough to hear yourself again. To notice what you’ve been holding back. To find pleasure in the little things. And to gently, steadily, begin to speak and act from a place that feels more aligned with you.
